Mercedes S-Class Coupé C217 door lights (from 2014)
The S-Class Coupé and Cabriolet have two doors and a short rule. Mercedes lists its logo projector for the C217 and A217 without an equipment code, but with one addition: fitting requires an extra adapter which, according to Mercedes, prevents the projector from flickering. Mercedes splits the build period at January 2018 without changing anything in the conditions.

What your car needs
The projector takes the place of the exit light in the bottom of the door. Mercedes names the S-Class A217 and C217 among the cars its logo projector set fits, and writes for both that fitting additionally requires adapters (A 118 820 21 00).
No equipment code is named, so there is nothing to look up on the data card. What you can do is look at the car: open the door after dark and see whether a lamp lights the ground.
Mercedes uses a different projector here than for the four-door S-Class. Compare your lamp with our connector photos before ordering, or send us a photo of its back.

Frequently asked questions
Does this also apply to the S-Class saloon?
No. For the saloon (W222) Mercedes has a separate projector with its own fitting instruction. This page covers the Coupé and the Cabriolet only.
What is the adapter for?
Mercedes writes that the adapters prevent the projector from flickering and that they have to be ordered separately. That is all the parts page says about them.
Does it make a difference that I drive an S 63 or S 65?
Mercedes lists the C217 and A217 by series and names no AMG exclusion for them. The lamp in your own door remains the final check.
