Mercedes A-Class W176 door lights (2012–2018)
For the W176 the rule fits on one line. Mercedes lists its logo projector for this A-Class only in combination with code U62, the Light and Sight package, and only for the front doors. That holds for the whole run, from the first cars in September 2012 to the last in May 2018. Not every W176 was ordered with that package, so the code is worth a look before you buy.

Door lights for Mercedes-Benz
What your car needs
The projector sits where the exit light in the front door is now. Mercedes lists its own projector (A 247 820 74 03) for the W176 only with code U62. If your A-Class was built without that package, there is normally no lamp in the door and no plug behind the panel.
U62 is one of the codes on the data card of your car. Ask a Mercedes-Benz dealer to print the card from the VIN if you do not have it.
No paperwork at hand? Open the driver's door at night and look down. A small lit lens in the bottom edge of the door panel is what you are looking for.

Mercedes names the front doors only for the W176, so the set of 2 is the one for this car.
Thinking about the rear doors as well? Check them first: without a factory lamp there, a projector has nothing to connect to.
Frequently asked questions
Is the A 45 AMG of this generation excluded?
For the W176, Mercedes's parts page does not name an AMG exclusion; it does for the successor, the W177. The condition it does name is U62.
My W176 has no U62. Is there another way?
Not with a plug-in set. Ours needs the existing lamp and its plug, and we do not sell wiring to add a lamp where the factory left none.
Does it matter that mine is a facelift model?
No. Mercedes lists both build periods, 09/2012–08/2015 and 09/2015–05/2018, with the same condition.
