Mercedes CLS C257 door lights (from 2018)
For the CLS C257 Mercedes names no equipment code as a condition for its logo projector. What its parts data does say: fitting requires an additional adapter, the rear doors can take one too, and for cars from July 2021 there is one exclusion. If such a later CLS has code E28, the surround lighting that projects the brand logo, Mercedes does not list the projector for it.

What your car needs
The projector replaces the exit light in the door. Mercedes lists its projector for the C257 under A 217 820 67 00 and states that fitting additionally requires adapters (A 118 820 21 00), which according to Mercedes prevent the projector from flickering.
For the CLS the list adds that fitting in the rear doors is possible as well. For cars built from 07/2021, look for code E28 on the data card: with that code Mercedes does not list its door projector.
Because no equipment code is named, do not assume that every door has a lamp. Open all four doors after dark and count the ones that light the ground.
2 or 4 lights?
A set of 4 is realistic here: Mercedes writes that the rear doors can be fitted too. First check that all four doors light up.
Only the front doors? Then the set of 2.

What is code E28?
Mercedes calls it Umfeldbeleuchtung mit Projektion des Markenlogos: surround lighting that projects the brand logo onto the ground. For a CLS from 07/2021 with that code, Mercedes does not list its door projector.
Why is there no equipment code for the CLS?
Mercedes does not explain it. Do not conclude from it that every door has a lamp: look for yourself whether they light up.
Does this also apply to the previous CLS, the C218?
