Mercedes door light codes: U62, 876, 891 and the exclusions explained
Mercedes-Benz lists its own logo projector per series, almost always together with an equipment code, also known as an option code or SA code. Some codes are a condition, others rule a car out. This page sorts them by code; our model pages give the full rule per car.
U62: Light and Sight package
U62 is the condition on the compact models: A-Class W176 and W177, B-Class W246, CLA C118, GLA X156 and H247, EQA and EQB. For the B-Class W247 Mercedes names it for cars from 12/2022. In every case the front doors are listed.
876: interior light package
876 is the condition on the C-Class W205 saloon and estate, the GLC X253, the GLE and ML W166 and the EQC. Only for the C-Class does Mercedes list the front and rear doors; for the others it names the front doors.
891: ambient lighting
891 is the condition on the E-Class: the W213 saloon and S213 estate (front and rear doors) and the Coupé C238 and Cabriolet A238. A second Mercedes parts page names code 877 instead of 891 for the W213.
LB9 and LP4: V-Class, Vito and Sprinter
The V-Class and EQV (series 447) are listed with LB9 and not with LP4. The Vito, eVito and Sprinter are listed with LB9; the LP4 exclusion is not named for them. The lamps are in the two front doors.
Codes that rule a car out
- 587: the logo projection in the exterior mirror. Named as an exclusion for the A-Class W177, GLA H247, EQA, EQB, B-Class W247, GLB and the GLE from 2019.
- P49: the mirror package. On the GLE and ML W166 and the GLE Coupé C292 it contains code 587, so it excludes the projector.
- P76: standard interior equipment. Excludes the E-Class W213 and S213.
- E28 and E72: surround lighting that projects the brand logo. E28 excludes the CLS C257 from 07/2021; E72 is named as an exclusion on one of the W213 parts pages.
- 588: AMG Lichtinszenierung. Excludes the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé X290.
Models without a required code
For the C-Class Coupé C205 and Cabriolet A205, the CLS C257, the S-Class Coupé C217, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, the GLB X247, the GLE V167 and GLS X167, and the B-Class W247 built before 12/2022, Mercedes names no code you need. There the lamp in your door is the only proof.
Where to find your codes
On the data card of the car, which lists every equipment code. A Mercedes-Benz dealer can print it from the VIN. Or let the car answer: open a front door after dark and look for a lit lens in the bottom edge of the door panel.
