Mercedes A-Class W177 door lights (from 2018)
The W177 A-Class is the one to check twice. Mercedes states that its logo projector can only be fitted to cars with door exit lighting, and that on the 177 series this lighting comes with code U62, the Light and Sight package. On top of that, Mercedes fits its own projector here only together with an adapter, and excludes AMG models. So start with the lamp in your door, not with the model year.

What your car needs
Three things have to be true before a projector makes sense on a W177 or V177:
- the car has code U62 (Light and Sight package), because that is where the door exit lighting comes from on this series;
- it does not have code 587, the logo projection in the exterior mirror;
- it is not an AMG model.
Mercedes lists the lamp for the front doors only.
Mercedes needs an adapter (A 247 820 76 03) for its own projector on this model. According to Mercedes, that adapter stops the projector from flickering. Compare the lamp in your door with our connector photos, or send us a picture before you order.

Mercedes only names the front doors for the W177 and V177, so plan on a set of 2.

Frequently asked questions
I drive an A 35 or A 45. Why are AMG models excluded?
Mercedes's parts portal excludes AMG models for its projector on the 177 series and gives no reason. If you drive one, look at the lamp in your door and contact us with a photo before ordering.
Where do I see whether my A-Class has U62?
On the data card of the car, which lists every equipment code. A Mercedes-Benz dealer can pull it up from your VIN in a minute.
Does the 2022 facelift change the rule?
No. Mercedes lists the cars built from 12/2022 with the same conditions as the earlier ones.
