Mercedes B-Class W247 door lights (from 2019)
With the B-Class W247 the build date decides what Mercedes itself tells you. For cars from December 2022 the logo projector is in the parts data with a clear condition: code U62, the Light and Sight package. For the earlier cars, from February 2019 to November 2022, Mercedes lists only the adapter that belongs with the projector, without a code. For those years the lamp in your door is the only firm proof.

What your car needs
Check the car first, then the paperwork. Open a front door after dark: if a small lamp in the door panel lights the ground, you have the exit light a projector replaces. Mercedes writes that its installation kit (A 247 820 87 02) can only be fitted to cars with this lighting, and that the kit is for the front doors.
On paper, for a W247 from 12/2022, that is code U62. The same kit is not listed together with the logo projection in the exterior mirror (code 587) and not for AMG models.
For both build periods Mercedes lists an adapter (A 247 820 76 03) for its projector; according to Mercedes it prevents flickering. Send us a photo of your lamp if you are unsure which version you have.

Why does Mercedes name no code for the first years?
The parts pages do not say. The page of the adapter names the W247 for both build periods; the page with the U62 condition names only the cars from 12/2022.
Is the previous B-Class, the W246, the same?
No, it is simpler: there Mercedes lists the projector directly with code U62, without an adapter. See our page about the W246.
My B-Class is from late 2022. Before or after the change?
Mercedes draws the line at December 2022. A Mercedes-Benz dealer can see the build month on the data card, which also shows whether U62 is on the car.
