Mercedes GLE V167 door lights (from 2019)
For the GLE built from 2019 the old rule is gone. For its predecessor, the W166, Mercedes named code 876 as a condition; for the V167 it names no required code any more. Mercedes lists the GLE (from 02/2019), the GLE Coupé (C167, from 04/2020) and the GLS (X167, from 11/2019) only on the page of the adapter that belongs with its logo projector. So look at the lamp, not for a code.

Door lights for Mercedes-Benz
What your car needs
The projector takes the place of the exit light in the front door. Mercedes lists these three series with adapter A 247 820 76 03, which is only valid together with its installation kit A 247 820 87 02. According to Mercedes the adapter prevents the projector from flickering.
The page of that kit states that it can only be fitted to cars with door exit lighting, that it is for the front doors, and that it is not meant for cars with the logo projection in the exterior mirror (code 587) or for AMG models.
These cars are tall. Crouch beside the open front door after dark and look at the underside of the door panel: a lit lens there is the lamp a set replaces.
2 or 4 lights?
Set of 2, for the front doors. That is what the Mercedes kit covers.

Frequently asked questions
I was looking for the rule with code 876. Does it still apply?
Not to this generation. Mercedes names code 876 for the W166 and the C292, the previous generation. For the V167, C167 and X167 that code is not in the data.
My GLE is an AMG 53 or 63. Does this apply?
According to the parts page, Mercedes's installation kit is not for AMG models. If you drive one, send us a photo of the lamp in your door before ordering.
Why is the GLS on the same page?
Because Mercedes lists the GLS X167 in the same line as the GLE: the same adapter, the same installation kit, no code.
