Audi Q5 FY door lights (from 2017)
Four doors, but not always four lamps: that is the Q5 FY in one sentence. Early cars with equipment code QQ1 or QQ2 have an LED entry lamp in every door. For cars built from week 31 of 2019, Audi's accessory data keeps the rear doors only for QQ2; QQ1 then covers the front pair. Find your code and your build period and you know which set fits your Q5.

What your car needs
A logo projector goes where the factory LED entry lamp sits, in the lower edge of the door panel. Audi lists its own projector (part 4G0 052 133 G) for the Q5 FY with QQ1 or QQ2 only. A Q5 without either code normally has no lamp there, and the set has nothing to plug into.
The codes are on the vehicle data sticker: in the service booklet and under the boot floor. With QQ2 you can stop reading, all four doors qualify. With QQ1 the build period above decides.
The Q5 sits high, so the light is easy to see: open the rear door at night and look at the ground next to the sill.

QQ2, any year: set of 4. QQ1 up to week 30/2019: set of 4. QQ1 from week 31/2019: set of 2.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find out in which week my Q5 was built?
The first-registration date gives a rough idea, but a car can stand at the dealer for months. An Audi dealer can read the build date from the VIN. The quickest proof is the car itself: a lamp in the rear door or not.
Is there a difference between the petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid Q5?
Not for the entry lamp. Audi's accessory data only looks at type code FY and the lighting code QQ1 or QQ2, not at the engine.
What does the projector show?
A sharp logo on the ground next to the car when the door opens. For Audi you can choose from 16 designs, in a set of 2 or 4.
