Audi A7 4G door lights (2010–2018)

In Audi's list the first A7 Sportback shares one line with the A6 of the same generation: the logo projector goes with code QQ1 or QQ2, for the front and the rear doors. There is one exception, and it has nothing to do with lighting. If the car has the Bang & Olufsen sound system with code 8RF, the rear doors drop out.

Which A7 4G do you have?

  • A7 Sportback without 8RF 4G

    2010–2018

QQ1 or QQ2: front and rear doors.

  • A7 Sportback with 8RF 4G

    2010–2018

QQ1 or QQ2: front doors only. 8RF is the Bang & Olufsen system that Audi labels “High End Sound”.

What your car needs

Audi door-entry light housing seen from the back, with its single connector
The Audi version: a single connector at the back. Compare it with the lamp in your door.

The projector replaces the factory LED entry lamp in the bottom of the door. For the A6 and A7 with type code 4G, Audi lists its own projector (part 4G0 052 133 G) with QQ1 or QQ2.

Then look for 8RF on the same sticker. If that code is there, Audi no longer names the rear doors. The list does not give a reason.

The S7 and RS 7 of this generation carry the same type code, 4G. Audi's list makes no separate remark for them.

2 or 4 lights?

QQ1 or QQ2 without 8RF: set of 4. With 8RF: set of 2, for the front doors.

You can always choose to do the front doors only; the rear lamps then simply stay as they are.

Frequently asked questions

Does every A7 with Bang & Olufsen have code 8RF?
The list does not tell. Audi only names 8RF and adds “High End Sound”. So look for the code itself on the sticker, not for the logo on the speakers.
Is the rule the same for the newer A7?
Not quite. For the A7 with type code 4K Audi names three codes: QQ0 for the front only, QQ1 and QQ2 for front and rear. The exception for 8RF exists there too.
Where do I find QQ1, QQ2 and 8RF?
On the vehicle data sticker with the three-character equipment codes. Audi puts one in the service booklet and one in the boot, near the spare wheel well.
