Audi A3 8V door lights (2013–2019)
On the A3 8V, door lights only work if the car left the factory with an LED lamp in the bottom of the door. Audi's own accessory data is strict about it: its logo projector is listed for the 8V only in combination with equipment code QQ4, and then for the front and the rear doors. Check that one code and you know whether a logo set makes sense for your car.

-
A3, S3 and RS 3 8V
2013–2019
All three carry type code 8V, so the same rule applies. Angular headlights with horizontal grille bars; from the 2016 facelift the LED headlights end in a sharp point.

What your car needs

The projector takes the place of the factory LED entry lamp under the door. Audi lists its own logo projector (part 4G0 052 133 G) for the A3 8V only with equipment code QQ4. No QQ4 usually means no lamp in the door, and then there is no plug to click into.
You find the code on the vehicle data sticker: one copy is in the service booklet, the other in the boot near the spare-wheel well. Look for QQ4 in the block of three-character codes.
Quicker check: open a door in the dark. A white light shining on the ground from the underside of the door panel is the lamp the projector replaces.
2 or 4 lights?
With QQ4 Audi lists the lamp for the front and rear doors, so a Sportback or Saloon can take a set of 4. The three-door and the Cabriolet have two doors: a set of 2 is enough.
Across all our Audi orders, 25% chose the set of 4.
