Audi A1 door-entry lights

Audi's accessory listing for its own LED logo projector names equipment codes for models such as the A3, A4, A6 and Q3, but not for the A1: neither the first generation (8X, 2010–2018) nor the second (GB, 2018–2026) is on it. For the A1 the rule is therefore simply the lamp: if your A1 has a factory courtesy lamp at the bottom of the door, the projector takes its place, plug & play.

How to order: enter your car model and year when you order. We send the right version for your car.

Which A1 do you have?

  • A1 8X 8X

    2010–2018

Three-door from 2010, five-door Sportback from 2012; the S1 belongs to this generation too. Often with the roof arch in a contrasting colour. Not named in Audi's accessory listing for the logo projector.

  • A1 GB GB

    2018–2026

Five-door Sportback only, also as citycarver (from 2022 allstreet). Three narrow slots between the bonnet and the grille. Not named in Audi's accessory listing either.

What your car needs

The Audi version: a single connector at the back. Enter your model and year when you order and we send the right version.

The projector clicks into the existing courtesy lamp at the bottom of your door. If your car has no lamp there from the factory, there is no connector to plug into.

Audi's accessory list gives no equipment code for the A1, neither for the 8X nor for the GB. So there is no code on the vehicle data sticker to look up.

Body style and trim level make no difference to the connection: what matters is the lamp in the door.

Audi uses two types of connector under the door: a narrow one for the LED version and a wider one for the older halogen version. You don't need to check which one you have: enter your model and year when you order and we send the right version. How to replace the lamp →

The option codes on this page are the manufacturer's rules for its own original projector.

2 or 4 lights?

Set of 2 = front doors, set of 4 = all four. The three-door A1 has two doors, so a set of 2 covers it. On a Sportback, a set of 4 only makes sense if the rear doors have a lamp too: open each door in the dark and count the doors where a white light falls on the ground.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the A1 not on Audi's list?
Audi does not say. Its accessory listing for the logo projector gives codes for models such as the A3, A4, A6 and Q3; the A1 is not among them. That does not rule out an A1, it only means there is no Audi code to go by. What counts is a factory lamp at the bottom of the door.
Do the S1, citycarver and allstreet count as an A1?
Yes. The S1 (2014–2018) is part of the first generation (8X); the citycarver and its successor, the allstreet, are versions of the second (GB). Audi's list names none of them, so the same rule applies: a factory lamp at the bottom of the door.
Which A1 generation do I have?
The 8X was built until 2018, as a three-door and as a five-door Sportback; the GB arrived in 2018 and only came as a five-door. A three-door A1 is therefore always an 8X.
Do I need to work out which version my A1 needs?
No. Enter your model and year when you order and we send the right version. If in doubt, you can always send us a photo.

Equipment-code information: Audi Genuine Accessories listing for the entry LED “Audi rings”, part 4G0 052 133 G (Audi Zentrum Ingolstadt), consulted 16 September 2026. The A1 (8X and GB) is not named in it. RD Customz sells its own aftermarket set, not an Audi genuine part.
