Audi Q3 8U door lights (2012–2018)

With the first Q3 it is all or nothing. Audi lists its logo projector for this generation with a single equipment code, QQ1, and then for the front and the rear doors at once. There is no second code and no build week to keep track of. There is one detail that is easy to miss: the list gives type code 8UG, not simply 8U.

Which Q3 8U do you have?

  • Q3 8U 8UG

    2012–2018

Code QQ1: front and rear doors. Audi names type code 8UG; check that it is on your sticker.

Door lights for Audi

What your car needs

Audi door-entry light housing seen from the back, with its single connector
The Audi version: a single connector at the back. Compare it with the lamp in your door.

The projector goes where the factory LED entry lamp sits. Audi writes explicitly that its projector (part 4G0 052 133 G) is only suitable for cars with LED entry lamps fitted as standard. On the Q3 with type code 8UG that comes with code QQ1, front and rear.

The type code is on the same vehicle data sticker as the equipment codes, in the service booklet and in the boot. If yours does not start with 8UG, Audi's list does not cover your car.

In doubt? Lever the lamp out of the door panel and compare its connector with the photo on this page, or send us a picture.

2 or 4 lights?

QQ1: every door has a lamp, so the set of 4 completes the car.

No QQ1: do not order on the off chance. Send us a photo of the underside of your door first.

Frequently asked questions

My Q3 does not have QQ1. What now?
Then Audi does not list its projector for your car. That does not prove there is no lamp, only that we cannot tell from the data. Look under the door and send us a photo of what you find.
Is the rule the same as for the newer Q3?
No. For the Q3 F3 Audi names QQ1 and QQ2, and the build week plays a part. For the first Q3 it is QQ1 only, front and rear. If you drive the newer one, use our page about the Q3 F3.
How many lights are in a set?
You choose a set of 2 or a set of 4. On a Q3 with QQ1 each door has its own lamp, so four lights cover the whole car.
