Ambient lighting for your Mazda: wireless, in 2 minutes
Give your Mazda a soft, premium glow at night, without wiring or a dealer visit. On current Mazdas, factory ambient lighting depends on model and grade: the CX-80 has white ambient lighting on the door trims, while on the new CX-5 and the CX-60 it comes with the Homura grade and above. If yours has none, or you want a glow in more places or in colour, wireless RGB LED lights add it in about two minutes. View the wireless ambient lighting.
- No wiring, no modifications: nothing is connected to your Mazda's electrics.
- 8 RGB colours and several lighting modes, switched with the included remote.
- USB-C rechargeable: every light has its own battery.
- Set of 2 or 4: light one zone, or the footwells and doors together.
- Fits virtually any Mazda, whatever its model or age.
1. Does your Mazda have factory ambient lighting?
What we could verify from Mazda sources (equipment differs per country and model year):
- CX-5 (new generation, 2025): in Europe, ambient lighting on the front door trims is reserved for the top Homura grade.
- CX-60 (2026): ambient lighting comes from the Homura grade upwards, together with features such as front seat ventilation.
- CX-80: across all grades, white ambient lighting on the front and rear door trims brings out the colour and texture of the interior finishes.
- Mazda6e: this electric model has ambient lighting that can be customised with 64 colour options.
Not sure what your Mazda has? A Mazda dealer can look up its factory equipment from the VIN. Where there is no ambient lighting, or only white light on the door trims, wireless lights add 8 colours and a glow in places such as the footwells, the rear or around the centre console.
Add the ambient lights to your Mazda.
2. Where the lights look best in a Mazda
- Footwells: under the dashboard edge, pointing at the floor. In the driver's footwell, fit the light high up, well away from the pedals.
- Door pockets: in or under the door pocket, so the light washes over the door trim.
- Centre console and cupholders: along the sides of the console or under the edge of the armrest, pointing down.
- Lower edge of the dashboard: low down and pointing down, so the light falls on the surface instead of towards you.
Rule of thumb: you should see the glow, not the light itself.
Where not to place them:
- Not on or near airbags: the steering wheel, the passenger side of the dashboard, the seat sides, and the doors and pillars where side and curtain airbags deploy. Your owner's manual shows where they are.
- Not in your line of sight: not on top of the dashboard, not next to the instrument cluster or the central display, and not where the light reflects in the windscreen or side windows.
- Not near the pedals, and make sure no light can come loose.
3. Fitting in 2 minutes
- Charge: charge the lights via USB-C before first use.
- Clean: wipe the spot with a damp cloth, remove grease with a little isopropyl alcohol or a mild interior cleaner, and let it dry completely.
- Place: check the position and direction in the dark, then fix the light. On leather or Alcantara, try a hidden spot first.
- Switch on: use the remote to switch the lights on and choose a colour and mode.
As with every order, you enter your Mazda model and year in the order field. If in doubt, you can always send us a photo.
4. Questions from Mazda drivers
- Set of 2 or 4 for my Mazda? A set of 2 is enough for one zone, such as the front footwells or the centre console. A set of 4 adds the doors or the rear for an all-round look.
- How do I charge them? Via USB-C, the connector most current phones use. Charge them indoors or from a USB port in your Mazda, only while parked.
- Will they drain my Mazda's battery? No. Each light runs on its own rechargeable battery and is not connected to the car.
- Will they damage the interior? Nothing is drilled or cut and no trim comes off. Fit them on a clean, dry surface and try a hidden spot first on leather or Alcantara.
- Can I use them while driving? Keep it subtle: cabin light can reflect in the windscreen and affect your night vision. Set a calm, steady colour before you drive off and switch the lights off if they distract you. Rules differ per country, but interior light must never dazzle or distract the driver.
