BMW door projector lights: 50 mm or 68 mm?
BMW supplies its own LED door projectors in two sizes, and that is the first thing to know for any BMW. A BMW dealer lists the 50 mm version for a range of recent models: 1 Series F40, 2 Series F44, G42 and U06, 3 Series G20 and G21, 4 Series G22, G23 and G26, and the Z4 G29. The 68 mm version is listed for a broad range, from 1 to 8 Series and X1 to X6, without generation codes. So start by comparing the lamp in your own door.

What your car needs
Whatever you fit, it takes the place of the exit light that is in the door from the factory. The BMW dealer writes the same for both sizes: fitting is only possible in cars that have door exit lights as standard, and on some cars the interior light package (SA 564) is mandatory.

2 or 4 lights?
The dealer names no door positions for the BMW projectors. So look for yourself: if all four doors light the ground when you open them, a set of 4 is possible; otherwise the set of 2.

Frequently asked questions
My model is in the 50 mm list. Is that all I need to know?
Not yet. The dealer itself writes that its model list is not complete and that there can be deviations depending on equipment, and advises checking the part against the VIN. The lamp in your door remains the proof.
What is SA 564?
The dealer calls it Innenlichtpaket, the interior light package, and writes that on some cars it is mandatory for the projector. It does not say on which models.
Does the genuine BMW projector show the same as yours?
The genuine projectors come with the BMW logo and separate slides with the BMW M logo. With our set you choose one of 14 projection styles when you order.
