BMW X4 door-entry lights

BMW supplies its own door projectors in two sizes, 50 mm and 68 mm. A BMW dealer lists the 50 mm version only for a few recent models of the 1, 2, 3 and 4 Series and the Z4; the X4 is not among them. The same dealer's 68 mm listing covers the X1 to X6, which takes in the X4, without generation codes. BMW Canada's own online shop for genuine accessories also lists the 68 mm projector for a number of X4 variants, including the X4 M, without model years. You don't need to work out which size you have: enter your car model and year when you order and we send the right size. In every case the car must have door exit lights from the factory.

How to order: enter your car model and year when you order. We send the right version for your car.

Which X4 do you have?

  • X4 G02 G02

    2018–2025

    2014–2018

The first X4, built on the F25 X3. No generation code in the dealer's lists.

What your car needs

The projector clicks into the existing courtesy lamp at the bottom of your door. If your car has no lamp there from the factory, there is no connector to plug into. Our set is plug & play and CAN-bus proof, so you will not get a warning on the dashboard.

Note: not every X4 version has a courtesy lamp from the factory, so look at the bottom of your door panel before you order.

BMW fits the courtesy lamp at the bottom of the door panel, usually with one standard connector. Check that your version has the lamp from the factory — not every version does. How to replace the lamp →

The option codes on this page are the manufacturer's rules for its own original projector.

2 or 4 lights?

Set of 2 = front doors, set of 4 = all four.

The dealer names no door positions for the BMW projectors. So look for yourself: if all four doors light the ground when you open them, a set of 4 is possible; otherwise the set of 2.

Frequently asked questions

Is the X4 on the 50 mm list?
No. The BMW dealer lists the 50 mm version for a few recent models of the 1, 2, 3 and 4 Series and the Z4. The X4 falls under its 68 mm listing for the X1 to X6, without generation codes. You don't need to work out which size you have: enter your car model and year when you order and we send the right size.
Does every X4 have door exit lights?
No. The BMW dealer writes that fitting is only possible in cars that have door exit lights as standard, and that on some cars the interior light package (SA 564) is mandatory. So check the bottom of your door panel first.
And the X4 M?
The dealer's lists do not name the X4 M separately. If there is a lamp at the bottom of the door panel from the factory, simply enter X4 M and the year when you order and we send the right size. If in doubt, you can always send us a photo through the contact page.
What is SA 564?
The dealer calls it Innenlichtpaket, the interior light package, and writes that on some cars it is mandatory for the projector. It does not say on which models.
Does the genuine BMW projector show the same as yours?
The genuine projectors come with the BMW logo and separate slides with the BMW M logo. With our set you choose one of 14 projection styles when you order.
