Wheel center caps for the Mercedes-Benz CLA: 75 mm, how to check and replace
The Mercedes-Benz CLA is bought for its looks, so faded or missing wheel center caps are quickly noticed. On CLA models with Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels a 75 mm cap is common, but the wheel decides, not the model. Here is how to recognise your CLA and check and replace the caps.
Which CLA do you have?
- CLA C118 (from 2019). The second CLA, a four-door coupé with frameless side windows and two screens under one glass panel. Also available as a Shooting Brake (X118).
- CLA C117 (2013–2019). The first CLA, with a freestanding screen on the dashboard and a facelift in 2016. From 2015 also as a Shooting Brake (X117).
On these generations, 75 mm is a common cap size on Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels. Mercedes-Benz launched a new, third CLA in 2025; we do not make a general statement about its caps yet, so for that car measuring is the only check.
Typical wheel situations on the CLA
- AMG Line. Many CLAs are sold with the AMG Line and AMG wheel designs. Many of those use a 75 mm cap, but measure to be sure.
- Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45. These have their own AMG wheels. The same rule applies: the cap you measure decides.
- Low profile tyres and kerbs. With large wheels and low tyres, a kerb can easily damage a cap. A set of four keeps the wheels matching.
Measure before you order
Measure the outer diameter of your current cap across the front, from edge to edge at the widest point. If the cap is missing, measure the round opening in the wheel. 75 mm means this set fits; clearly more or less means it is not the right set for that wheel. The full explanation is in our 75 mm measuring guide.
Fitting in four steps
- Clean the area around the old cap, so you do not drag grit across the paint.
- Lever the old cap out with a plastic pry tool or a flat screwdriver wrapped in tape, working round the edge until the clips let go.
- Check that the opening is clean and dry.
- Line the logo up (for example with the valve) and press the new cap in evenly with your palm until the clips snap in. No tools needed.
Questions about the CLA
I have the new CLA from 2025. Will these fit?
We cannot confirm that in general. Measure the outer diameter of your current cap, or send us a photo of your wheel and we will check it with you.
Is the Shooting Brake different from the coupé?
Not in principle. The body style does not decide the cap size; the wheel does.
My CLA has aftermarket wheels. Can I use these caps?
Usually not. Aftermarket wheels come with their own caps in their own size. Only if your cap measures 75 mm in a Mercedes-Benz-style opening is this set an option.
