Wheel center caps for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class: 75 mm, how to check and replace
Lost a center cap on your Mercedes-Benz A-Class, or are the old ones faded? On A-Class cars with Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels, a 75 mm cap is common. Whether it fits your car depends on the wheel, not just the model, so here is how to recognise your A-Class, what to look out for and how to check and swap the caps.
Which A-Class do you have?
- A-Class W177 (2018–2025). Two screens under one glass panel, turbine-style air vents and MBUX with “Hey Mercedes”. Available as a hatchback and, for the first time, as a saloon.
- A-Class W176 (2012–2018). Round air vents and an analogue instrument cluster with a separate display on the dashboard.
On both generations, 75 mm is a common cap size on Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels. The older A-Class and special wheel designs can differ, so check the cap on your own car.
Typical wheel situations on the A-Class
- Steel wheels with wheel covers. Some A-Class cars, and many winter sets, run on steel wheels with a full plastic wheel cover. Those have no separate center cap, so this set is not for them.
- AMG Line and Mercedes-AMG. AMG Line cars and the Mercedes-AMG A 35 and A 45 usually have AMG wheel designs. Many of those use a 75 mm cap too, but the wheel decides, so measure.
- Kerb rash and missing caps. In town, a cap can get knocked out or damaged. A set of four keeps all wheels matching.
Measure before you order
Measure the outer diameter of your current cap across the front, from edge to edge at the widest point. If the cap is missing, measure the round opening in the wheel. 75 mm means this set fits; clearly more or less means it is not the right set for that wheel. The full explanation is in our 75 mm measuring guide.
Fitting in four steps
- Clean the area around the old cap, so you do not drag grit across the paint.
- Lever the old cap out with a plastic pry tool or a flat screwdriver wrapped in tape, working round the edge until the clips let go.
- Check that the opening is clean and dry.
- Line the logo up (for example with the valve) and press the new cap in evenly with your palm until the clips snap in. No tools needed.
Questions about the A-Class
My A-Class has steel winter wheels with plastic covers. Can I use these caps?
No. These caps clip into the center opening of an alloy wheel. Full wheel covers on steel wheels are a different part.
Do these fit the A 35 or A 45?
That depends on the wheel, not the model name. If your current cap measures 75 mm across the front, this set fits.
Only one cap is missing. Do I need a full set?
We sell them as a set of four. Replacing all four at once also means old, faded caps no longer stand out next to a new one.
