Wheel center caps for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class: 75 mm, how to check and replace
On a Mercedes-Benz C-Class with factory alloy wheels, a 75 mm center cap is common. But the model alone does not settle it: the wheel does. Below you will find how to recognise your C-Class, the wheel situations we see most on this model, and how to check and replace the caps yourself.
Which C-Class do you have?
- C-Class W206 (from 2021). Saloon and estate with a large portrait-format touchscreen in the centre console and a fully digital instrument display.
- C-Class W205 (2014–2020). Round air vents and a freestanding tablet-style screen above the centre console. Besides the saloon and estate there is also a coupé and a cabriolet.
On both generations, 75 mm is a common cap size on Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels. Older C-Class generations and special wheel designs can differ, so always check the cap on your own car.
Typical wheel situations on the C-Class
- Standard and AMG Line wheels. The C-Class leaves the factory on many different Mercedes-Benz and AMG wheel designs, depending on trim and options. The cap size is set by the wheel, not by the trim level.
- A second set for winter. Many C-Class owners swap to winter wheels. If those are genuine Mercedes-Benz wheels, measure their caps separately. Aftermarket winter wheels usually come with their own caps in their own size.
- Faded or missing caps. After a few winters of salt and car washes, caps can fade or one can go missing. A set of four makes all wheels look the same again.
Measure before you order
Measure the outer diameter of your current cap across the front, from edge to edge at the widest point. If the cap is missing, measure the round opening in the wheel. 75 mm means this set fits; clearly more or less means it is not the right set for that wheel. The full explanation is in our 75 mm measuring guide.
Fitting in four steps
- Clean the area around the old cap, so you do not drag grit across the paint.
- Lever the old cap out with a plastic pry tool or a flat screwdriver wrapped in tape, working round the edge until the clips let go.
- Check that the opening is clean and dry.
- Line the logo up (for example with the valve) and press the new cap in evenly with your palm until the clips snap in. No tools needed.
Questions about the C-Class
My C-Class has aftermarket winter wheels. Will these caps fit?
Probably not. Wheels from other brands usually have their own cap with its own size and clip system. Measure the cap: only if it is 75 mm and sits in a round opening like the Mercedes-Benz one is this set an option.
I have a C-Class coupé or cabriolet. Is that different?
Not in principle. The body style does not decide the cap size; the wheel does. Measure the outer diameter as described above.
Does an AMG Line car need different caps?
Not because of the trim. AMG Line cars often have different wheel designs, but many Mercedes-Benz and AMG alloys use a 75 mm cap. Measuring tells you for sure.
