Wheel center caps for the Mercedes-Benz B-Class: 75 mm, how to check and replace

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is a family car that clocks up the miles, and the wheel center caps show it: faded, scratched or one missing after a tyre change. On B-Class cars with Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels a 75 mm cap is common, but the wheel decides, not the model. Here is how to recognise your B-Class and check and replace the caps.

Which B-Class do you have?

  • B-Class W247 (from 2019). The current shape, with the wide MBUX screen layout and turbine-style air vents shared with the A-Class of the same period.
  • B-Class W246 (2011–2019). The earlier shape, with a freestanding screen on top of the dashboard.

On both generations, 75 mm is a common cap size on Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels. The first B-Class and special wheel designs can differ, so check your own cap.

Typical wheel situations on the B-Class

  • Summer and winter sets. Many B-Class owners have two sets of wheels. Check both: a set of genuine Mercedes-Benz winter alloys can take this cap, aftermarket winter wheels usually have their own.
  • Caps lost at a tyre change. Caps sometimes get lost or damaged when wheels are swapped. A full set of four keeps all wheels the same.
  • Bought second-hand. On a used B-Class the caps can be a mix of old and new, or not genuine. Measure the outer diameter of the one that looks original.

Measure before you order

Measure the outer diameter of your current cap across the front, from edge to edge at the widest point. If the cap is missing, measure the round opening in the wheel. 75 mm means this set fits; clearly more or less means it is not the right set for that wheel. The full explanation is in our 75 mm measuring guide.

Fitting in four steps

  1. Clean the area around the old cap, so you do not drag grit across the paint.
  2. Lever the old cap out with a plastic pry tool or a flat screwdriver wrapped in tape, working round the edge until the clips let go.
  3. Check that the opening is clean and dry.
  4. Line the logo up (for example with the valve) and press the new cap in evenly with your palm until the clips snap in. No tools needed.

Questions about the B-Class

My B-Class came with a set of winter wheels. Do I need different caps?
Only if those wheels use a different cap. If they are genuine Mercedes-Benz alloys, measure their caps too; if they are aftermarket wheels, they usually have caps of their own.

Are the caps the same as on the A-Class?
75 mm is common on Mercedes-Benz alloys of both models, but what counts is the wheel on your car. Measuring takes a minute.

Can I fit them myself?
Yes. They clip in by hand; the only tool you need is something to lever the old cap out carefully.
