2. Cooper S Alcantara or MINI Premium: which one suits you?

Both sets go on your MINI key in the same way and contain the same parts. The choice is about the look and the feel:

• Choose MINI Premium for a quiet look: the MINI logo is embossed into the strap, so everything stays black and gunmetal.

3. What is Alcantara?

Alcantara is the brand name of a suede-like microfibre material made by the Italian company Alcantara S.p.A. It consists of roughly two-thirds polyester and one-third polyurethane. In cars it is often used on steering wheels, gear levers and seats. To clean it, use water and a microfibre cloth, and avoid harsh cleaning agents and stiff brushes.

5. Attaching it to your MINI key

1. Open the D-ring: unscrew its pin with the small screwdriver.
2. Pass the D-ring through the eyelet or key ring of your MINI key and through the keychain.
3. Screw the pin back in and tighten it so it does not work loose. Put your other keys on the extra key rings.

Because the keychain hangs from the key ring, it does not depend on the shape of your MINI key.

• Which strap is made of Alcantara? The Cooper S set has a soft black Alcantara strap with an embroidered logo. The MINI Premium set has a black textured strap with an embossed logo.
• Do I need a Cooper S for the Cooper S set? No. Both sets go on any MINI key with a key ring or eyelet; whether you want the Cooper S logo on your key is a matter of taste.
• Does it fit my MINI key? A keychain attaches to the key ring or the eyelet of the key, not to the key shell, so it does not depend on your key type. If in doubt, you can always send us a photo of your key.
