Wireless CarPlay for Peugeot 2008: make your factory CarPlay wireless
With a wireless adapter you get into your Peugeot 2008 or e-2008, start the car and drive off: CarPlay or Android Auto starts by itself and your phone stays in your pocket or bag. There is one condition: your 2008 already has wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto from the factory. That is usually the case with the 2008 from the 2016 facelift until mid-2023, including the e-2008. You can check it in one minute below.

1. What the adapter does in your Peugeot 2008
- Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in one adapter: iPhone and Android.
- Plugs into the existing USB port your Peugeot 2008 uses for CarPlay or Android Auto.
- Pair once, then the phone connects by itself.
- No installation, no tools: nothing changes in the car.
- Your Peugeot 2008's own screen and controls keep working: touchscreen, steering-wheel buttons, speakers and microphone.
2. Does your Peugeot 2008 qualify? The 1-minute test
- Start the car and wait until the touchscreen is fully on.
- Connect your phone to a USB port with a cable: an iPhone for CarPlay, an Android phone for Android Auto.
- CarPlay or Android Auto appears: your Peugeot 2008 has the connection the adapter needs. The adapter goes into exactly that USB port.
- Nothing appears: try the other USB ports and a good cable, because some ports only charge. If nothing appears on any port, your Peugeot 2008 most likely has no CarPlay or Android Auto, and the adapter will not add it.
Passed the test? Then your Peugeot 2008 has what the adapter needs. Order the adapter and enter your model (2008 or e-2008) and year in the order field.
3. Which Peugeot 2008 generations have wired CarPlay
Peugeot calls its smartphone connection Mirror Screen. What your 2008 has depends mainly on the generation and the touchscreen:
- 2008 first generation (2013–2016): a touchscreen, but usually no CarPlay or Android Auto yet. The adapter will not help here.
- 2008 first generation, facelift (2016–2019): Mirror Screen with Apple CarPlay by USB cable, at launch together with MirrorLink; UK tests also list Android Auto. MirrorLink alone is not enough for the adapter.
- 2008 second generation (2019–2023), including the e-2008: a 7- or 10-inch touchscreen depending on the version, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto by cable on all versions. This is the 2008 where the adapter makes the most sense.
- 2008 facelift (from mid-2023), including the e-2008: a 10-inch touchscreen and i-Connect with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You usually do not need the adapter for CarPlay; check Android Auto separately with your phone.
These are the usual equipment levels; versions and markets differ. The cable test is decisive.
4. Set it up in your Peugeot 2008 in 3 steps
- Plug in: start the car, unplug the phone cable and plug the adapter into the USB port that worked in the test.
- Pair once: switch on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone, choose the adapter in the Bluetooth list (not the car) and follow the manual.
- Confirm: accept the CarPlay or Android Auto prompt on your phone. After that, the phone should connect by itself every time you get in.
5. Questions from Peugeot 2008 drivers
- Does it work with Mirror Screen in the 2008? Yes, if Mirror Screen shows Apple CarPlay or Android Auto with a cable. CarPlay or Android Auto still runs on the 2008's own 7- or 10-inch touchscreen. If your 2008 only offers MirrorLink, the adapter will not help.
- Which USB port in the 2008? The one where the test worked. Not every USB socket carries data; some only charge.
- Does it work in the electric e-2008? Yes, the same applies as for the petrol and diesel 2008: the e-2008 has the same i-Cockpit and touchscreens. An e-2008 from 2019 to 2023 usually has CarPlay and Android Auto by cable; the facelifted e-2008 is already wireless.
- My Peugeot 2008 only shows Android Auto (or only CarPlay) with a cable. Does the adapter help? Only for that system. The adapter does not add a system your Peugeot 2008 lacks. For wireless Android Auto, Google lists a phone with Android 11 or later and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Will the steering-wheel buttons and Siri or Google Assistant still work? Yes. If the voice button starts Siri or the Google Assistant with the cable, it does the same with the adapter. Calls use the car's speakers and microphone.
- Lag and battery? Wireless can respond slightly slower than a cable, mostly with audio, such as a short delay when you skip a track. Your phone no longer charges via the USB port and uses more battery, so use a charger on long drives.
